2012 Athletes Village  ODA / Triathlon / Lend Lease

Fletcher Priest’s masterplan for the Olympic Village emerged from their work on Stratford City which transformed a formerly inaccessible and polluted area of brownfield land in East London into the venue for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the most successful in history. It was the largest ever planning application in London comprising a major new employment district and the largest urban retail centre in Europe, new public open spaces, a new mixed-tenure residential neighbourhood complete with infrastructure and 4,500 homes. Most significantly, Fletcher Priest led its acceleration to accommodate the Olympic Village, working with Vogt and multiple architects to deliver nearly 3,000 homes for 17,000 athletes that converted to form a new and multiple award-winning community, now known as East Village.
