Long & Waterson  Izaki

Long & Waterson is a residential development set within the Hackney Road conservation area just north of the City and includes buildings of townscape merit. Several phases of work include refurbishment, extension and new buildings with a mix of residential, commercial and workplace integrated into landscaped communal areas at various levels. The project is an example of our interiors and architecture groups working together to share expertise at different scales.

The first phase, The Courtyard Building, comprises a new 10 storey residential block with 48 apartments and duplex penthouses. A façade of continuous scalloped vertical panelling with glazing set within an expressed structural framing.

The second phase, the Refurbishment Buildings, breathes new life into two, four storey 1950s workshop blocks incorporating new glazing, repaired brickwork and exposed structural framing along with the incorporation of two additional levels and roof terraces into 71 apartments.
