This lobby extension and landscape operation is a combination of simple geometrical shapes where concrete and glass surfaces and boxes become the lobby, paving, benches, walls, soft landscaping and the standing obelisk. Two new soft landscape with new trees and planting provide live and shades within a seasonal changing scenario that varies in texture and colour.
The concrete obelisk locates the building from a distance. This element contributes to the identity of the building creating a presence in the square. Another concrete wall divides the square from the parking and gives place to a gentle ramp that leads to the entrance level. Also a concrete bench provides a place where to sit and enjoy the sun. This merges with the stone steps that lead to a broad entrance landing and then to the main door. The whole extended lobby was recladed with a full height structural framed glass system. A new glass revolving door provides a very identifiable entrance.
