Senior Interior Designer / Associate role

Fletcher Priest is now working on some ground-breaking Interiors projects. We are looking for Senior Interior Designer /Associate to join our Interiors team, to be able to lead and mentor other staff members.

You must have:

• Knowledge of the industry
• Commercial workplace experience, additional residential experience would be ideal
• Ability to work under own initiative and as an integral part of the team with a great design talent
• Ability to run projects and mentor the team

The essential functions of this role include:

  • Creating innovative design solutions based on an in-depth analysis of project requirements
  • Preparing drawings and 3D modelling by AutoCad and / or by hand for internal and external purposes
  • Providing project based drawings, documentation and information packages
  • Liaising with the Project Leader and outside agencies in order to complete the above
  • Participating in design / technical reviews of project documentation
  • Participating in presentations / meetings where appropriate
  • Implementing company processes on the project at all times
  • Research into design / construction methods, legislation and working practices, as required

The successful candidate will need to be qualified to RIBA part II with experience of delivering outstanding conceptual design solutions with experience of developing these solutions alongside legislative and planning guidelines. We are seeking top quality Architects with a proven track record of creating innovative design solutions and being responsible for projects from inception to completion, for our lively studio. We need an applicant with excellent design ability and technical knowledge.

  • Experience of working with teams on early stages / design proposals
  • Preparing and presenting design proposals to the client
  • Full design of every part and component of the building by collaboration of all concerned
  • Producing detailed drawings from which costings are made
  • Solving problems that might occur during building
  • Commercially aware, mature, responsible & reliable
  • Capable of liaising confidently with clients and consultants and developing those professional relationships
  • Keeping within financial budgets and time deadlines
  • Wants to take on and drive projects forward with little day to day ‘hands-on’ guidance
  • Experience in commercial projects including the preparation of package design
  • RIBA Part III, recently qualified ARB or equivalent

Part 1 Architectural Assistant

We are seeking talented, cheerful and enthusiastic Part 1 Architectural Assistants to work on various projects at different stages and scales during a one-year internship. The role offers rewarding work within a successful practice based in our lively central London studios.

The essential functions of this role include:

  1. Creating innovative design solutions based on an in-depth analysis of project requirements
  2. Preparing drawings and 3D modelling by AutoCad and / or by hand for internal and external purposes
  3. Implementing company processes on the project at all times
  4. Research into design / construction methods, legislation and working practices, as required

The successful graduate will demonstrate enthusiasm for quality design, strong attention to detail and an ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
Candidates must be highly competent in 2D and 3D CAD and modelling. Revit experience is an advantage. Exceptional skills in the three-dimensional manipulation of space are essential, as are strong free-hand drawing skills.

Part 2 Architectural Assistant

We are seeking a Part 2 Architectural Consultant with a proven track record of creating innovative design solutions, and of co-ordinating on-site processes, for our lively studio.
The essential functions of this role include:

The successful candidate will need to be qualified to RIBA part II with experience of delivering outstanding conceptual design solutions with experience of developing these solutions alongside legislative and planning guidelines. They will ideally have worked on Residential and Commercial projects.

Candidates must be highly competent in AutoCad; Rhino; Adobe Creative Suite; VRay; Sketchup; MS Office and be trained in Revit. Exceptional skills in the three-dimensional manipulation of space are essential, as are strong free-hand drawing skills. Candidates will also need knowledge of UK planning law.

In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding levels of drive; conceptual design ability; analytical & problem solving skills; strong client service orientation; presentation and communication skills; organisational skills and ability to work to deadline.
