We’re honoured that our work at both 160 Aldersgate and The White Chapel Building has been recognised by being shortlisted in the London Region Recycled/Refurbished Workplace category for the 2019 BCO Awards.
Both schemes have seen the refurbishment of existing office buildings, using the strong frames of both buildings and adding modern design embellishments to create true 21st century workplaces. Both buildings also share newly transformed atria, with 160 Aldersgate benefitting from a new timber and steel stair, with lime washed oak treads and risers with a contrasting dark metal balustrade. At The White Chapel Building, the former stair and escalators have been removed to allow for the creation of a new social hub within the light-filled atrium for the benefit of both building users and the general public. We’re delighted that the success of both schemes has seen tenants such as DLA Piper (160 Aldersgate), the Government Digital Service and the London Museum of Photography (The White Chapel Building) occupy the buildings.
Winning projects will be announced at the 2019 London Awards Lunch on 30 April 2019.
