55 Gresham St has been let in its entirety to the asset management business of specialist bank Investec.
The company is moving from its current home to the newly developed office building, designed by Fletcher Priest.
55 Gresham Street is a major office refurbishment of an existing eight-storey office block in the heart of the City of London, occupying a prominent corner on the north-east junction of Gresham Street and Wood Street. The new scheme features a new, level entrance and reception, with remodelled cores and new building services.
The design incorporates a number of strong visual clues to the rich history of craftsmanship and guilds operating in the area, and also incorporates the Gresham grasshopper (derived from Sir Thomas Gresham’s family’s coat of arms) in discreet casts on the building façade. A cast of the Grasshopper has recently been accepted as part of the Royal Academy’s 2018 Summer Exhibition.
Investec’s occupation of Gresham Street means the building is fully let before completion, as the organisation will be taking all 120,000 sqft of redeveloped office space.
