One New Ludgate Wins LEAF Awards 2016 for Developer Project of the Year

Fletcher Priest is thrilled that One New Ludgate has won the Developer Project of the Year with our client Land Securities at the LEAF awards. Entries were received from all over the world for this prestigious award which also saw Calatrava receive a lifetime achievement award.

This landmark development transforms a City block into a generous and lively new quarter for London. It sets up a dialogue between two striking and complementary new buildings whilst reinstating and improving the public realm around it and new routes through the city block.

It is, in essence, a new piece of city.

Around the site, street lines, grades and views have been repaired and improved. Trees are placed on the enlarged, generous pavement of Limeburner Lane while a new public route has been established running along the north side linking an existing pedestrian route to a new public piazza with a new mature tree.

Quality was foremost from the outset with this project, it’s a hallmark of Land Securities that the offices be of the highest quality to meet the market expectations. The building boasts superb external amenity with three floors benefitting from stunning outdoor spaces including a loggia on the 7th floor and an extensive south-facing terrace on the 5th floor with uninterrupted views across Central London. This terrace features a curvilinear white bench with colourful bands of perennial plants mixed with ornamental grasses in loose, natural arrangements.
